Chris Tighe steps down from Coaching Youth League Women

The SBA would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Chris Tighe for his outstanding contribution as the Youth League Women's Coach. After three remarkable seasons, Chris has made the difficult decision to step away from the role to focus on other aspects of his coach development and the Association.

During his tenure, Chris has demonstrated unwavering dedication and a true passion for developing young athletes. His commitment to the growth and success of our players has been exceptional. Chris's ability to nurture and guide players from the VJBL into the Youth League program, and ultimately onto our SCW team, has been invaluable.

Under Chris's guidance, countless junior players have thrived. His coaching expertise, coupled with his ability to create a positive and supportive environment, has not only enhanced their skills on the court but also fostered their personal growth and confidence.

Chris's leadership and commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed, and his impact will be felt for years to come. The Association extends its deepest appreciation for the countless hours Chris has dedicated to training sessions, player development, game preparation, scouting and instilling a love for the sport in our athletes.

The SBA wishes Chris all the best in his future endeavours and looks forward to continuing to work with him in different capacities within the Association. His passion and expertise will undoubtedly continue to make a positive impact on the sport and the development of our athletes.

The SBA will advertise the role of Youth League Women’s Coach and begin the search for suitable candidates in the coming weeks.
