Glenn Ogston

 

​Meet Glenn, the heartbeat of the SBA. With more than 40 years involved in the association, he’s done it all — player, referee, coach, board member and President. Professionally, Glenn works as a Forestry Analyst, bringing extensive experience in project management and logistics to the role. A recently inducted SBA Life Member, he’s passionate about creating opportunities for everyone to enjoy basketball, from first-time players through to elite pathways. Away from the court, Glenn is a proud Collingwood supporter who’s still happily celebrating the 2023 AFL premiership — Carna Pies!

Nathan Sellwood

​Nathan has been part of the SBA community since 1984 and continues to bring enormous passion and experience to the association. With a background in construction and project management, he has long advocated for the growth of basketball facilities and opportunities in Sunbury, including campaigning for stadium redevelopment and future expansion. A Life Member and inaugural Hall of Fame inductee, Nathan has contributed across playing, coaching and leadership roles over many years. When he’s not at the stadium, you’ll likely find him following the NBA, NHL or NFL — although local basketball will always come first.

Adam Ryan

Adam brings strong financial expertise and a fresh perspective to the SBA Board. A Chartered Accountant by trade, he has held financial management roles across major organisations including JLL and Swimming Australia. Passionate about building a sustainable and modern association, Adam is focused on supporting the continued growth of junior basketball and ensuring the SBA is well positioned for the future. Outside of balancing budgets and spreadsheets, he’s a long-time basketball fan and self-confessed Lego enthusiast.

Laurelle Esse​

Laurelle brings extensive leadership and creative expertise to the SBA Board, with decades of experience across advertising, production and marketing. Currently working as Head of Marketing for a leading Australian retailer, she offers strong strategic, communication and stakeholder engagement skills. A long-time supporter of Sunbury Basketball through both domestic and VJBL programs, Laurelle has been involved as a team manager, board member and basketball parent over many years. She is passionate about building a welcoming and community-focused environment where players and families can develop friendships, connections and lifelong memories through sport.

Mardi Durling

Mardi brings a strong mix of leadership, elite basketball experience and community involvement to the SBA Board. A Registered Nurse and Program Lead in Surgical Harm Prevention, she specialises in governance, safety, risk management and leading large multidisciplinary teams. Since joining the SBA community in 2018, Mardi has been heavily involved as both a coach and team manager across domestic and VJBL programs. A former Queensland representative player who also competed in the Queensland Basketball League and overseas, she remains passionate about athlete wellbeing, positive team environments and creating opportunities for young people to thrive through sport.

Russell

Corcoran

Russell combines his professional expertise in the aviation industry with a genuine passion for community basketball. A dedicated coach and long-time supporter of the domestic and representative programs, he oversees the domestic, VJBL and Big V portfolios on behalf of the Board. His leadership experience within high-reliability organisations brings a calm, strategic approach to governance and operations. Russell is committed to helping basketball continue to grow in Sunbury and creating opportunities for players of all levels to thrive.

Sebastian Bell'Almo

Sebastian has been part of the SBA Board since 2017 and brings decades of professional and basketball experience to the association. With a 29-year career at Qantas, he offers strong operational, governance and stakeholder management skills, while also contributing heavily to grants, policy and by-law reviews. His basketball journey began in the 1980s and his long-standing connection to the sport continues to drive his commitment to the SBA’s future. Sebastian is passionate about ensuring the association remains inclusive, sustainable and community focused.

Renee Griffiths

Renee brings more than 20 years of professional experience as a Social Worker, currently leading Family Services across the Hume region. Her extensive background working with children, young people and families provides valuable expertise in wellbeing, inclusion and child safety. A long-time member of the SBA community, Renee has contributed as a player, parent, coach, Junior Delegate and President of Riddell’s Creek Basketball Club. She is passionate about the positive impact community sport can have on confidence, connection and belonging, with a particular focus on supporting female participation and creating welcoming environments for all families.
