Wellbeing
Wellbeing at Sunbury Basketball Association

At Sunbury Basketball Association (SBA), the wellbeing of every player, coach, volunteer, and community member is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment both on and off the court.

Our approach to wellbeing covers several key areas:

· Child Safety: The safety, participation, and empowerment of children is our highest priority. We uphold strong policies, provide active supervision, and promote a culture of respect and accountability.

· Inclusion: Everyone is welcome in our basketball community, regardless of age, ability, gender, cultural background, or identity. We celebrate diversity and provide equal opportunities for all to participate and thrive.

· Nutrition: We encourage healthy eating habits to support athletic performance, growth, and long-term health.

· Digital Safety: We promote safe and responsible use of technology and social media. This helps protect young people from online risks and supports positive, respectful online engagement.

· Strength & Conditioning: We prioritise safe and effective training practices to build physical resilience, prevent injuries, and support long-term athletic development.

· Mental Health: Mental wellbeing is just as important as physical health. We aim to create a culture where players, families, and staff feel supported, connected, and empowered to seek help when needed.

By focusing on these areas, SBA strives to build not only stronger athletes but also healthier, happier, and more confident individuals who can thrive both in sport and in life.
