Sunbury Basketball Association Welcomes Monique Stevens as Head Coach for Jets State Championship Women's Team




The Sunbury Basketball Association is delighted to announce the appointment of Monique Stevens as the Head Coach for the Sunbury Jets State Championship Women's team, effective immediately. Monique's exceptional background as a player and her recent coaching contributions to the Sunbury Jets make her a valuable addition to the coaching staff.


Monique boasts a stellar playing career, showcasing her skills at renowned institutions such as North-West Missouri University and contributing significantly to teams like Albury Lady Bandits (SEABL), and SEQ Stars (WNBL). Her notable achievement includes being an integral member of the Sunbury Jets Three-peat team in 2016, 2017, and 2018.


In addition to her illustrious playing career, Monique previously served as an SBA administrator from 2016 to 2017, demonstrating her commitment to the Sunbury basketball community. More recently, Monique has been a crucial part of the Sunbury Jets, serving as the assistant coach for the 2023 State Championship Women's team. Her coaching stint showcased her ability to build strong connections with the playing group, making her an ideal candidate for the head coaching role.


Monique, renowned for her smart and classy point guard skills, brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and basketball acumen to her new role. The SBA is thrilled to have Monique Stevens lead the State Championship Women's team and is confident in her ability to continue the team's success.
