Alex Watson

Alex's Bio

· Alex worked as an English Policeman before moving to Australia and worked with the Australian Customs Service.

· Alex was a permanent fixture at the Boardman Stadium, doing all the senior and junior fixtures, ladders and qualified players from every domestic team for many years.

· Alex was the one to go to regarding any required determinations or understandings of the SBA domestic by-laws.

· Alex was a member of many SBA committees over the years especially the Junior Domestic Committee.

· Alex completed duty responsibility on Saturdays for clubs that couldn’t do it, and it was well known by the Sunbury Basketball community not to bring any basketballs into an SBA stadium on Alex’s watch!

· Alex was our MMBL delegate for many years, representing Sunbury Basketball on a number of Basketball Victoria competition committees.

· In honour of Alex, the showcourt grandstand at Boardman Stadium is named after him as is the SBA’s annual award for “Scoretable/Statistician of the Year”.

· He is a very sad loss to all when he passed in 2018.
