Kellie's Bio

Kellie Moore (née Down) proudly represented the Sunbury Jets at both junior and senior levels and was a long-standing member of the Lions Basketball Club in the domestic competition.

​

Between 1998 and 2011, Kellie played an outstanding 222 Big V Championship games for the Sunbury Jets, establishing herself as one of the most reliable and enduring contributors in the Association’s women’s program.

​

A proven leader and fierce competitor, she played a pivotal role in the Sunbury Jets’ Under-18 Division 1 Championship team in 2002 and later captained the Big V women’s side to its first-ever Grand Final appearance in 2009.

​

Renowned for her defensive presence and high basketball IQ, Kellie was a finalist for the BigV Defensive Player of the Year on multiple occasions and earned selection in the BigV All-Star 5 at Guard in 2009.

Beyond her playing career, Kellie has coached both domestic and junior representative teams, continuing her commitment to the development of our sport.

Following her time at Sunbury, she continued her BigV career elsewhere after relocating, finishing just short of 300 championship games and leading her new team as captain to a Division 1 title — a testament to her longevity, professionalism, and standing within the league.

Across more than a decade with the Sunbury Jets, Kellie’s leadership, dedication, and loyalty left a lasting impression on teammates, coaches, and the wider Sunbury Basketball community
