
Gary Gibson

Garry's Bio
· “Gibbo” was Vice President of the SBA in 1982, and again in 1991 and 1992, then being elected as SBA President in 1993.
· Gary had a major stake in naming the association emblem the “Jets” and also suggested the color scheme of royal blue and white befitting with many other Sunbury sporting clubs.
· Gary was our longstanding Tribunal Secretary, and he also coached numerous Sunbury Jets VJBL teams.
· When not in office as the President or Vice President, Gary was a General Committee member of the SBA Board for many years.
· Gary was responsible for negotiations with the Preston Rams in 1984 before they became the Sunbury Jets in the State Championship Men.
· Gary was also the General Manager of the first Sunbury Jets Executive Committee in 1985 and served as assistant coach of our SEBL Men in 1986.
· In 1990 Gary also provided a helping hand with the SEABL (Now NBL1) license being transferred from Sunbury to Keilor.
· Gary also was the administrator for the Western basketball division of the VJBL for Basketball Victoria for manty years.

It was very sad when we lost Gibbo in 2011, he was a great character and contributor around the SBA.
