Jets confirm 4th annual Dohmen-Jolly Round fixtures

Sunbury Jets have confirmed that the association will host its fourth annual Dohmen Jolly Round rounds on Saturday 18 and Saturday 25 July, raising funds for Western Health in memory Sue Dohmen and Brent Jolly.

Over the two weekends, the Association will host a range of exciting on- and off-court activations at Boardman Stadium, and its Big V teams will don their new custom neon pink-and-blue singlets in support of cancer awareness.

Playing their final 2026 regular season games, Jets’ Youth League Women’s and Men’s teams will begin fundraising efforts when they welcome Hume City and Westgate, respectively, in two thrilling match-ups on Saturday 18 July from 6pm.

The following weekend, the Association’s Championship teams will welcome McKinnon for a fiery double header match-up on Saturday 25 July from 6pm.

Sunbury Jets’ Dohmen-Jolly round was first introduced in 2022 to celebrate the lives of Sunbury basketball stalwarts Sue Dohmen and Brent Jolly, who both passed from cancer-related illnesses within three months of each other in 2021, leaving behind their three children Nathan, Maddison and current Youth League Men’s captain Jack.

“I’m really happy to see the Dohmen-Jolly round return this season,” said Jack.

“My parents played a big part in not only my basketball journey, but in the journeys of so many players from across the Sunbury Basketball Association.

“My dad, Brent, coached across a number of age grades as I was growing up, and my mum, Sue, managed a number of domestic teams.

“We’re once again raising funds for Western Health Foundation’s Sunshine Cancer Services. The charity cared for both of my parents, and their support was invaluable at what was a really tough time for our family.

“I can’t wait to see the Sunbury Basketball community come together once again to tackle the devastating effects of a cancer diagnosis and battle.”
